Kathleen Lochmann MS, Brainspotting Phase 1
Sometimes life feels ‘lifey.’ Hard. Overwhelming. Unsettling. Confusing. This can happen through actions we take, or through the actions of others. Often, it is a combination of the two. As complex individuals, we are influenced by the world around us. And, occasionally, we need someone to come alongside us and help us sort through things in a therapeutic and holistic environment. Utilizing a comprehensive approach that considers the whole person, I work with clients who desire the opportunity to uncover (“how did I get here”), discover (explore things about it), and recover (heal) emotionally, physically, and spiritually. If you are interested in taking this step, it would be a privilege to be with you on this very personal and restorative journey.
Experience: Kathleen received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in August of 2021. During her internship she worked in both private practice, providing individual therapy, and in a hospital setting on mental health inpatient units for adolescents and adults, conducting both individual and group sessions. Since graduation Kathleen has been working in private practice and continuing to build upon her therapeutic skills including completing Brainspotting Phase 1 and EMDR Basic Training.
Client Focus: Adolescents, adults and couples.
Types of Therapy: Based on each client’s needs, different modalities may be practiced including Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Faith-based interventions, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy.
Specialties: Depression and Anxiety
Standard: Anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, challenging seasons of life and trauma.
More than just my work: My passion for connecting with people began as a young journalist and photographer in the Alaska Army National Guard. My growing appreciation for individuals and their stories led me to a career in communications and marketing at Providence. There, I was inspired by the often challenging journey humans face and the incredible strength of the spirit within. Experiencing my own story of recovery in 1999 through a lot of hard work that continues, I pursued my second career in the field of counseling. Born and raised in Alaska, I cherish loved ones, outdoor adventures, and restful time at my cabin.
